Rafflesia International School Application Form Checklist

Placement Test

A placement test will be scheduled for every student (Year 3 and above) applying to enrol at Rafflesia International School. The format and level of the placement tests may vary according to the different age groups. All placement test materials are deemed properties of the School and must be kept confidential. The objective of the placement test is to determine the level of the student’s English and Mathematics competencies and to ascertain if the child has any learning needs/issues.

Admissions interview / Observation Class

The respective principal/teachers will interview (Year 3 and above) or observe (Year 2 and below) the applicants to have a better understanding of the applicants. Parents will be notified of the dates and other essential information regarding the admissions interview and observation class.

Offer Letter / Conditional Offer

Offers may be made, either conditionally or unconditionally, to applicants depending on their admission/academic status. Parents must accept the offer on or before the date stated in the offer letter and pay all the required fees to secure a place for the student.

Admission Policy

To ensure Rafflesia is always on par excellence, we set a policy that defines the acceptance of quality students whom we feel have the potential to grow further in our school. These policies will look at the eligibility and level of capability of the students, so they can be groomed to be the next generation of global leaders.

Malaysian students

We welcome all Malaysians students to enrol at Rafflesia International and Private Schools. As required by the Ministry of Education, Malaysian History is a compulsory subject for all Malaysian students.

Expatriate parents and students

Expatriate parents may apply to enrol their child at Rafflesia International School by completing the application for admission form accompanied by all the relevant documents, such as the student’s academic reports and credentials, the valid visas granted by the Malaysian Immigration Department and such other documents as may be required by the school.

Admission policy

We accept students based on the availability of places, the placement test results, and interview with the School Principal without prejudice or regard to races and nationalities. All admissions are subject to the school’s terms and conditions governing enrolment and admissions.

Waiting lists

If a place is not available for your child due to full intake, we will place your child’s name in our waiting list. Alternatively, if the waiting list is not viable, we may recommend a transfer to the following term and/or other academic year group. All applicants should provide the school with their latest contact information to ensure that they can be reached for any updates.

Students whose mother tongue is not English

Students enrolling in Rafflesia International School will have to sit for a placement test to gauge the level of their English and other competencies. Students who do not meet the required level of English competency may still be accepted at the discretion of the School Principal. These students will be given English language support to improve their level of English competency.

Advance applications

Parents may send in their applications in advance and the names of the students will be placed in our waiting list until the school is able to confirm the availability of places for the intended intake.
