Batik is a fabric dyeing technique that’s popular all over the world, especially in Yunnan, China (where it’s believed to have originated), West Africa, and Indonesia, where it’s considered an art form. It creates stunning results.

There are many benefits of Batik DIY paintings for small children. This activity can nurture a child’s creative mind, boosts self esteem, encourages self expression, develops fine motor skills, improves hand-eye coordination, improves memory, and also teaches flexibility.

Our students of Standard 1 Respect created amazing Batik creations during their visual arts lesson by using water colour, poster colour, crayons, pencil, and paint brush.

Children are naturally creative. It is our job to give them the freedom, materials and space to let their creativity blossom to its full potential.

Here are a few snippets of their artwork!
