Collage art is one of the best first art experiences for kids and should be repeated often in various formats, using a wide range of materials.

It is particularly good for little hands as it involves picking, sticking, tearing, ripping, snipping and gluing, all of which are vital fine motor development tasks to strengthen and refine small hand muscles.

Simply put, the better the motor skills, the more confident the child will be able to draw and write when the time comes, and their body will be able to keep up with that quickly developing mind!

Using only leaves, glue and pencil, our students of Standard 3 Respect produced an artistic individual masterpiece of leaf collage. They were given the choice to choose their preferred animal and they needed to use the leaves to depict the animals in their own way.

It is truly aesthetic to see their creations!
